This project is located in the state of Acre, Brasil, which is a tropical weather region surrounded by the Amazon rainforest. It is a place where most of the local people live in poor hygiene
conditions. The challenge of the project was to replace the existing informal riverbank housing with a new proposal that offers a better sanitary system and protection from flood, while keeping
the strict budget constraints in mind. To answer to the budget limitation recycled timber, donated by a certified local timber factory, was used in structure and facades. To improve the sanitary conditions a water treatment station was implemented on the site.
